The Eames designed the House of cards to provoke the imagination of children and adults alike.

Toys: House of Cards

The Eames insatiable exploration of material didn't stop with architecture or furniture however, but influenced and whittled it's way into the artwork they created, like the aluminum Do-Nothing-Solar-Machine, and even into their love of toys and games, with the infinitely rearrangeable paper House of Cards playing card deck.

This deck of playing cards allowed the child or adult to built and endless amount of structures due to the interlocking nature of how it was designed. While designed for play and exploration, the Eames also sought to enfuse and share their own love for the beauty of the ordinary into the designs by creating the graphics primarily from knick knacks and objects they had collected in their home and office.
